Purgatory Lift Tickets 2026/27: Prices and Passes

Purgatory prices lift tickets by the day, and the resort's own pass FAQ puts the daily range at $9 to $309. Tickets are below $50 on 95 days of the 2026/27 season, about 70% of its scheduled operating days. There is no walk-up window rate, because every ticket is sold online, and the earlier you buy, the less you pay. Kids 12 and under ski free with a Power Kids Pass, and a full Power Pass is $1,149 for ages 37 to 64.

Every price below is as posted on the resort's lift ticket page, season pass page and pass FAQ in October 2026. The date-by-date ticket prices sit inside the resort's online calendar, so this guide does not list them. It gives you the ceiling, the floor and the math in between.

How much are Purgatory lift tickets for 2026/27?

Pick your date, then check the price. The resort's range is $9 to $309, and where you land depends on demand. Book close to the day and the price climbs. Peak days cost more.

The resort says last winter's average day ticket was $110, in its Power Pass guide. That average is the number to plan around if you can't pick your dates. The $9 dates are real, but they are "select dates," not an everyday rate.

What do the Purgatory passes cost by age?

Pass prices drop with age tiers, not just with the pass type. Here is every posted price for the 2026/27 pass family:

Age tierPower Pass12-Day Power Pass4-Day Power Pass
Ages 37-64$1,149$799$499
Ages 30-36$1,049$699$449
Ages 25-29$949$599$425
Ages 19-24$849$499$399
Youth (13-18)$749$449$349
Senior (65+)$949$599$449

The Weekday Power Pass has no age tiers: $299 for one weekday a week, $375 for two, $425 for three, $459 for four and $549 for five.

Two notes on those numbers. The resort says it has held starting prices since 2023. Its own July pass guide quoted $1,049 for a full Power Pass, ages 37 to 64, for anyone who started a payment plan by August 14, and the pass page now lists $1,149. Check the price at checkout.

Also, the Power Pass family is the only pass product on the resort's ticket and pass pages. They list no Indy, Ikon or Epic partnership. The Power Pass covers 10 mountains in all, including Purgatory, Arizona Snowbowl, Brian Head and Lee Canyon.

What do the blackout dates and perks look like?

The full Power Pass, the Parent Share Pass and the free kids and senior passes have no blackout dates. The restricted passes share one short list, which lines up with the busiest holiday weekends:

  • 12-Day, 4-Day and military passes: blacked out December 27 to 31, 2026, January 16 to 17, 2027 and February 13 to 14, 2027.
  • Weekday Power Pass: blacked out Saturdays, Sundays and December 28 to 31, 2026.

Every pass except the free ones and the military pass includes six lift tickets at 50% off the online rate. You can use them for yourself on a blackout day or hand them to a friend. Those four paid passes also include 10% off on-mountain dining. The Power, 12-Day and 4-Day passes add 20% to 30% off resort-booked lodging outside blackout dates. Our Purgatory lodging guide lays out those deals.

Is a Purgatory season pass worth it?

Only if your ski days would otherwise be expensive ones. The resort says a pass is the best value for anyone skiing four or more days. The math is more mixed. It backs the claim when your dates are priced high, and it does not when they are priced low.

Here is the break-even for a skier aged 37 to 64, using the posted prices:

PassPriceBreak-even against $110 ticketsBreak-even against $49 tickets
Power Pass$1,149About 10.5 daysAbout 23.5 days
12-Day Power Pass$7997.3 days16.3 days
4-Day Power Pass$4994.5 days (you only get 4)10.2 days (you only get 4)
Weekday Power Pass, 1 day a week$2992.7 days6.1 days

Read the table this way. At the resort's $110 average, the 4-Day pass costs $499 for four days, or $124.75 a day. That is more than the average ticket. Four tickets at under $50 cost less than $200. The 4-Day pass only wins if your dates are priced above about $125.

The full pass and the weekday pass are different. The resort counts one weekday a week as about 20 days. At $299 that is about $15 a day. Even against tickets under $50, the weekday pass pays off after about six days.

A payment plan helps with cash flow, not total cost. It is interest-free and has no credit check. Payments are split into equal monthly charges on the 1st, finish on February 1, and must start by the 14th of a month, with January 14 the last start date. A declined payment adds a $20 fee.

What are the cheapest ways to ski Purgatory?

Here are the real mechanisms, ranked from cheapest to most expensive for a visitor:

  1. Kids 12 and under: free. The Power Kids Pass costs nothing and has no blackout dates. Bring proof of age, and pick up the card at Purgatory Sports Downtown on Main Ave or the resort's fulfillment center.
  2. Age 75 and over: free. The Super Senior Pass has no blackout dates.
  3. A $9 date. You pay $9 and get $10 in Purgatory Cash to spend that day. You must buy at least 24 hours ahead.
  4. A weekday or off-peak ticket bought early. The resort says weekdays and non-peak dates cost far less. Tickets are under $50 on 95 days.
  5. A friend's 50%-off ticket. Any passholder has six half-price tickets and can send one to you.
  6. A weekday pass, if you live here. One weekday a week is $299, which is about $15 a day across 20 weekdays.
  7. A youth 12-Day Power Pass. At $449, that is about $37 a day for a teen who skis all 12 days.

Skip the idea of waiting for a deal at the window. The resort says there isn't one.

What does a family of four pay for lift tickets?

Take two parents and two kids aged 12 or under, skiing four days. The kids ski free on Power Kids Passes, so the cost is eight paying ski days. Here is what that costs on posted numbers:

ScenarioLift cost for 4 days (two paying skiers)KidsTotal
Every day is a $9 date$72 (and $80 in Purgatory Cash back)Free$72
Every day priced under $50Under $400FreeUnder $400
Resort's last-winter average, $110$880Free$880
Two 4-Day Power Passes$998Free$998
Two 12-Day Power Passes$1,598Free$1,598
Every day at the $309 ceiling$2,472Free$2,472

The first row is a best case, not a plan. Not every date is a $9 date. The practical range is the second and third rows: roughly $400 to $880 for the two parents. At an average price, two 4-Day passes cost more than tickets. Lessons, rentals and lodging are extra. For gear, see our ski rental guide.

A teen aged 13 to 18 does not ski free. The resort posts no separate teen day-ticket price, so check the calendar. A youth 4-Day pass at $349 is the posted alternative.

How do you buy, change or cancel a ticket?

Buy online. The resort sells all winter tickets at its online store. Purchases are non-refundable, except for 48 hours after you buy, as long as that is before your arrival date. No refunds are issued on the day you arrive.

Before 11:59 pm the day before your ski date, you can exchange an unused ticket for resort credit through your online account. If you swap to a pricier day, you pay the difference. The credit works for lift tickets, lessons, rentals and resort-run food and retail. It cannot be used for lodging, and it expires April 25, 2027.

Season passes are on RFID cards this year. The resort no longer mails passes. You pick one up at Purgatory Sports Downtown or the mountain fulfillment center. Passes are non-refundable unless you bought the refund option at the time of the original sale.

When does Purgatory open, and what else should you plan?

Ski season starts Friday, November 20, 2026, weather permitting. Colorado Couloir, a new chairlift, opens about 40 acres of advanced terrain. Our Purgatory resort guide has the details. For the trip around the tickets, use the Durango ski trip plan. Want another mountain? Try the ski areas near Durango or the Wolf Creek day-trip guide.
